Final Summer 2011 Information
EHS Boys Cross-Country
Final Summer 2011 Information
Blackout Week:
EHS Coaches and athletes cannot meet from July 31 through August 9. During this time, there will not be organized practices with coaches, but seniors may lead optional training sessions. Also, I am looking for parents to “host” runs during this time period. I will do a first come, first serve basis on this block of “host” runs. This will provide some adult supervision and will help to make running more enjoyable.
We are looking for volunteers for host runs on 8/1, 8/2, 8/3, 8/4, 8/5, 8/8, and 8/9. Please call Coach P. at 567-5792 or email at goosepatry@aol.com if interested in hosting.
Official Practice:
Official practices begin on Wednesday, August 10, 2011. You must have all paperwork turned in to compete. The schedule is as follows:
Wednesday, August 10: EHS Track at 6:00 p.m. (French Fry Run: Bring $5 to cover the cost of fries).
Thursday, August 11: Host Run at Coach Mclendon’s. More info to follow.
Friday, August 12: EHS Track at 6:00 p.m. 2011 Soda Mile. Bring spikes. I will provide soda. If you don’t trust what I bring, bring your own.
Final Thoughts:
Although we are going to have a fun week when we get back, you must be serious during the next several weeks. Please bring an updated mileage log with you on Wednesday, August 10. You have until the first day of school to log your miles. Whether you feel like you are ahead of schedule, or way behind, your summer gets you ready to endure the long and challenging season ahead. If you want it to be a rewarding season, make sure you are doing what you should be. Once school starts, State will be here before you know it. The question is, are we going to be at State. Be smart and be careful, but be ready for the season to begin.
